Acknowledgement of Country
As we enter this sacred space, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land upon which we stand, the Kaurna people.
Their footsteps were here long before our shoeprints.
Their handprints were here centuries before our buildings rose.
Their hearts loved and broke in this country generations before our violence, settlements, and sorrows.
Their cultural authority and traditions were established long before our communities of relationships and our leadership came to be.
We call upon their Spirit ancestors and our own ancestors who have gone to God, to be with us as we share, learn and celebrate together.
We acknowledge the strong connection the Kaurna people have with this country and that it is as strong today as it always has been. Always was. Always will be.
